UX/Design Lead

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide vision, direction and methodology for a growing team in Boise and set the bar for qualify by example, with energy and passion.
  • Lead a user-centered design function at Covr with an emphasis on the company's white-labeled digital insurance platform.
  • Balance an understanding of strategy, research, interaction and visual design to deliver simple, intelligent solutions.
  • Work collaboratively across company functions to define user experience through design artifacts that include customer journey maps, participatory design prototypes and wireframes.
  • Establish a clear view of competition, best practices and trends to ensure Covr is consistently viewed as a leader. 
  • Consult with Covr's clients and strategic partners to align on user needs and issues.
  • Collaborate closely with technology and engineering to guide the long-term road map for Covr's digital platform. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in experience design and graphic / visual development required
  • BFA or BA in related field, graduate design degree preferred
  • Team management experience
  • Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
  • Effective communication of design solutions across roles and levels
  • Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies and their application and relevance to digital experiences
  • Proven understanding of responsive web and mobile application design and wireframe development
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence others and provide thought leadership on design
  • Flexibility - ability to change direction based on team and stakeholder input
