IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary

The System Administrator at Covr will support both infrastructure that enables our internal users as well as infrastructure that enables our core business functions and external customers.  Each day will provide new problems to solve, projects to advance and technology to learn.  Cross training, communication, documentation and knowledge sharing is imperative to success in this role. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Administrate and provide care for existing technology
  • Troubleshoot technology issues as they arise
  • Monitor and work tickets within a ticket management system
  • Respond to alerts and alarms
  • Design solutions to existing and foreseen issues
  • Propose updates to infrastructure to improve functionality and / or feature sets
  • Analyze and isolate issues
  • Maintain network and system security
  • Design and deploy networks
  • Maintain network and system services, including computers, servers, printers, security systems and phones.
  • Document processes, designs and support procedures as needed
  • Attend team meetings and contribute as needed

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working within a team

  • Skilled in contributing to design and prototyping solutions

  • Ability to triage issues in an effective manner

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter capable of performing duties with minimal oversight

  • Must be comfortable choosing priorities when presented with multiple challenges

Desired Skills

  • Experience working with Windows Server solutions

  • Experience performing Windows desktop administration

  • Experience working within Azure

  • Experience administrating a segmented network

  • Experience administrating and designing a distributed network

  • Experience managing small to mid-sized projects through completion

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of System Administration experience in a Windows Server environment
  •  1+ year of System Administration experience in Microsoft Azure preferred
  • MSCA Server 2008, 2012 or 2016 preferred
  • MCSE Server 2008, 2012 or 2016 preferred
  • MCSA: Cloud Platform certification preferred
